The desktop/app float screen used to allow to return to dashboard as long as you highlight the desktop/app in the dashbord-bar, but after recent update the feature was lost, which is less convenience when the float lost its track after some tracking issues or long period of play

And yes, you can use recenter and waste a few seconds to force the float window back, but then there's a new(?) bug, which the window will keep the buttons of the float mode, while lost the movement bar, you will then required to press dock and float again to fix it
