AMD 6950's of mine only lasted me 5 years thats a Plus in my book anyways I need an upgrade!! 480 are being price gouged on amazon. These sellers buy out all the stock from Amazon themselves and or other places, and then add $100 dollars to the price. The MSRP is $199 (4GB), and $239 (8GB) for the 480's!!!

Hey Cali4niner,
I have a 7950ghz edition in my main computer, which is about exactly as fast as an HD7970.

The R9 280X is a relaunched and updated HD7970, its practically almost the same videochip in them.

The difference to a single HD6870 is immense, here examples from my experience:

Battlefield4 Beta 1920x1080 Max (Phenom X4 4ghz)
HD6870: 25fps
HD7950 Ghz: 50fps

We can assume that on the same system, the R9 280X would get a bit more like 55-60fps.

Since you apparently use two HD6870s, you might get 35-45fps there without overclocking. As long as your games support Crossfire therefore, I dont recommend you to buy this videocard. If you want to upgrade at all you should go at least for an R9 290 without X. You could eitherway just overclock your duo, i bet you can play all games well anyways.

Hello CALI4NINER,
due to the changes of the steam community and the new layout, the group management got very tedious. It's been a while and our profile has to be updated again soon. Feel free to check our articles and if you have any hardware/software related questions, just post a comment here.

Hello 59! It seems your P5B Mainboard only supports Intel Processors. Heres what I found:
- Support Intel® next generation 45nm Multi-core CPU
- Intel LGA775 Platform
- Intel® Quad-core CPU Ready
- Intel® Core™2 Extreme / Core™2 Duo Ready
- Intel® Pentium® Extreme / Pentium® D / Pentium® 4 / Celeron® D Ready
- 1066/800/ 533 MHz

Oct 21, 2012 @ 2:21pm

Oct 19, 2012 @ 8:04pm
The AMD Community is back after a rather long break! Check out the new layout of our homepage and have a look at our new announcements!
Feb 3, 2012 @ 12:44pm
HD6670 is a lowend card ;O You shouldnt go over to NVIDIA just because of that videocard. If you want to play games you should have at least gotten a HD6870. I think its quite comparable to GTX560 too
Jan 29, 2012 @ 11:06am
Just got a ASUS HD 6670 not long ago, so far it does worse than my old GT 8600 >.< going to sell both and get a GTX 560 Ti :P
Aug 18, 2011 @ 6:49am

Aug 4, 2011 @ 10:35am
I might think about upgrading my processor.... Does ATI sell RAM too?
Aug 1, 2011 @ 4:42pm
6990 taken off newegg? WTF
May 23, 2011 @ 3:58am
YO GUYS, anyone trying out EVE online for the first time please send me some mail so I can hook you up with a 21 day free trial.

Well the X600 is fairly outdated, its not even able to run new games on lowest settings. You shouldnt take this is as bad example for AMD's quality. Maybe you're going for a Radeon again next time. Im sure that the HD6870 is by far better than the outdated GTX460(-> see GTX560), specially at tesselation and DX11-Features. It costs about 200-219euros, the GTX460 was probably 169. And well it would have been really worth the money.
Mar 12, 2011 @ 7:54am
I had an ATIX600 but now I got an NVIDIA GeForce GTX460 - now what?
Jan 28, 2011 @ 3:21pm
I actually have a reason to be in this group now...I went from 9800gotx+ to turbo 5770 OC ATI on christmas
Nov 26, 2010 @ 3:43pm
I JUST GOT A 6870!!!!! =D
Nov 18, 2010 @ 4:03pm
Changed my 5970 oc with a crossfire of 6870 oc for almost the same price... wow, more performance and stability, lower noise and temperature. WELL DONE!
Nov 15, 2010 @ 5:35pm
Typoes man. Typoes.
Nov 4, 2010 @ 6:05pm
woohooo i have a ATI card
a 5770 vapor-x
Oct 2, 2010 @ 7:37am
I hope steam support helps us changing the name if ATi is really not produced anymore ;-/
Sep 23, 2010 @ 6:44pm
ATI sounds so much better though. AMD sounds like a new form of STD's
Sep 23, 2010 @ 2:45pm
You need to change this Group to AMD CardForce ;P . Since AMD has decided to take away the ATI name brand. T_T
Sep 18, 2010 @ 1:48pm
No clue on the pricing yet, but expect them to be more expensive than the 5000 series at release.
Sep 17, 2010 @ 2:03pm
how expensive will these be running?
Sep 17, 2010 @ 7:20am
The performance of the 6750 and 6770 will probably be equal to the 5770 and 5830, so I'm pretty sure they'll be better. There's not a lot of information about the 6800 series yet though, but I think the 6870 will be a GTX 480 killer.
Sep 16, 2010 @ 7:10pm
really? I heard they arent going to be all that much better then the 5000 series though. What will the benchmarks be like?
Sep 16, 2010 @ 6:57am
Get a Radeon HD 5850, they're the current best in that price class. You might want to keep your money and wait for the HD 6000 series though, they're expected in Q3/Q4 of this year.
Sep 15, 2010 @ 11:09pm
hey you guys, I got a Sapphire 4670 atm but am looking to upgrade to a card that is under $300 that will play every game known at max res and get atleast 40-50 fps. Can anyone give me a clue as to what to buy? Thanks
Sep 13, 2010 @ 6:27pm
I have the radeon 4800 series, is it worth upgrading to the next series or is my card good for a while.
Sep 11, 2010 @ 3:00am
5970 is greatest card out messes up all the competition out there rapes nvidias face
Aug 2, 2010 @ 4:23am
LOL if we get even more and start our own real "Internet-forum" outside of steam, we could apply to get test-videocards directly from ATi to release benchmarks, reviews and such in the future. Please go on and invite all your friends who use ATi/AMD products if you got some time or you are bored xD
Jul 27, 2010 @ 4:48pm
Lolz thanks for the invite goner decline though just wanted to say hahahaha though i do own AMD Phenom II 1090T x6 CPU my videocard is nvidia gtx260

May 21, 2010 @ 11:01am
Hmm, my HD5770 is good for basic use but wouldnt recommend it if you want to play hardcore with graphics at max. MW2 runs almost max though
