@everyone, the admin team has received some pretty devastating news today, the community’s not only lost a fellow admin, we’ve lost a good friend, someone who’s been with us since almost the beginning, through all of our ups and downs. He was more like family, as most of you are. It’s with an exceedingly heavy heart that I must tell you all that on June 8th, 2021, our friend and brother Argyle regrettably took his own life and is no longer with us. We’ve already confirmed through Judas, who was very close to Argyle, that this information is true.

Smack and I are looking to find out more information on where we can send cards and flowers and we'll keep you all posted so that everyone can participate and pay their respects. This upcoming Friday will be dedicated to him, although, that doesn’t feel like quite enough.

We will all miss his empanadas, and all those late nights gaming from inside of his washing machine. We love you brother, we’ll never forget you, you'll be forever missed, and forever emblazoned into CritFest memory and our hearts.

In Loving Memory of Oldfrog - October 25-26, 2019

As some of you who've been following on Discord know, our friend and dear community member, Oldfrog, was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and soon after was placed into hospice. The community pitched in for gas money to help get Smack and I to San Antonio so that we could see him before he passed. We raised enough money that same day, and left that night, we barely made it in time, but we got there. You should have see how bright his face got, like a little kid on Christmas, that moment was worth all of it. Sadly, as we were driving home on the 19th, at around 4:30CT, we got the news that about ten minutes prior he had finally given up the ghost, fittingly, around the same time that Smack and I were singing James Taylor, You've Got a Friend, something I sang to Oldfrog as I held his hand in the hospital. This whole experience has been, overwhelming, beautiful, sad, and bittersweet. Thank you all to those who helped make it possible.

This Friday and Saturday we'll be coming together in remembrance of Oldfrog, a celebration of his life, each other, and this community, we're going to be hitting it hard, and partying until we can't no mo, like old times. I hope to see a lot of you there, hopefully some I haven't seen in a while, let's stop letting time pass and catch up, tomorrow isn't promised.

Update to Nade Plugin on Server 1

Main issue of errors in console and logs (and occassional server crashing) - fixed
Demo/Heavy Mirv special nade would show multiple kills to a building (resulting in extra points) - fixed
Dispensers now will give nades
Medic special nade now deals damage to enemies but at same time heals friendlies
Countdown timer added when holding nade button
Added colored particle effects (red for red, blue for blue) - looks prettier and easier to distinguish whos nade it is in low light situations

And...since we paid for it, we have an agreement with the coder that our server will be the ONLY TF2 server with this version of the plugin! Enjoy!

Smack and I are finally getting with the times, the day has come to finally retire the Mumble Server. Many of you within the community have been talking about Discord, and asking us if we have one yet, well now we do! Enjoy. :)

Server 1 Update

Ok, so....Server 1 is back up and running in case you weren't aware (or missed this weekend's events).

1. Saysounds *should* be working now -- but I need to tweak the config to be sure we have the latest saysounds to use on the server. If a file/saysound appears to be missing, please let me or Skies know! If you are a current donor and they aren't working for you or your intro sound isn't playing, please let us know.

2. Nades should be working now as well, however there are some errors with the plugin on the back end (error msgs in the logs and the occasional server crash may occur). I have a coder lined up to be able to fix it (gonna cost some cash but it'll be worth it) but due to jury duty, he can't begin work on it until 1 July. In the meantime, if there's any ideas you have for the nade mod, please reply to the forum post so I can annotate it and if it's "do-able", will ask the coder to implement. When we get this mod fixed, it won't be released publicly and we'll be the only server with it. :) And since the Fast Download issue has been resolved, there shouldn't be anyone getting "ERROR" models anymore. If someone is, chances are they have downloads disabled in their settings.

3. Reserved slots should be operational - if you are an admin or donor and it doesn't let you connect on a full server, be sure to let myself or Skies know ASAP.

4. AFK plugin should be working properly now. Let us know if it's still moving people too quickly -- it shouldn't move you to spectator until you've been AFK for 2 mins but it will give you a 30 second warning before it does.

5. If there is anything else that is not working or is missing (i.e. a plugin, a map, etc)...be sure to let us know! I will be working to tweak things on the backend to be sure we're running things just like old times! :D

That's right...we've been gone for a bit....a hiatus if you will. We shut the server down last December, however, it will be resurrected tonight. I am still polishing things up, troubleshooting broken plug-ins, etc, but I am close to being done. If you've uninstalled TF2, REINSTALL IT NAO!!! Tonight - it happens again. Yes.....our first Drunk Admin Night of 2017!!!

As Skies stated in an event (in case you missed it):
"Smack and I have had a very eventful year, but now that we've moved and life has calmed down, we're ready to make a return, not just in TF2, but other games, and other platforms. First we'd like to get our TF2 Server #1 back up, but in order to do that we just need 4 people to pledge $5 a month, and then Smack and I can cover the rest. I hope you all are just as excited as I am about our return, I know that together we can make this thing happen again.
