Bomb explodes in Turku

Yesterday 3 bombs exlpoded in a local market resulting in the deaths of 5 civilians and 1 police officer. We suspect the Finland democratic Liberation Alliance to have commited this.

In response, we ask for the formation of a secret police. We ask aslweel more army units to patrol in Finland's larger cities along side the Emperial Police Force.

Accords of the Empire

His Most Scandinavian Majesty is departing for the Region of Finland, locally known as Suomi, to discuss its future status within the Empire. As the Finnish Region has been under control by the Swedish Kingdom, it has received some Freedoms, though is not recognized as a integral Part of the Scandinavian Crown yet. The People of Suomi shall have a Voice on the future Status of its Country within the Empire, but will remain under Sovereignity of the Crown itself until the Debate is finished.

The re-initiation of the "Gå-På" tactic

A little more then twenty-one years ago, the predecessor of our most glorious and gracious king; Karl XII of Sweden was defending his empire and fatherland against the mightiest coalition northern Europe had ever seen. He held them for 18 years! Russia, Denmark, Poland and Prussia had allied themselves in an attempt to take what was rightfully ours, they thought that they would defeat the 15 year old king in a few weeks, but how wrong they were. At battles such as Narva, Holowczyn, Fraustadt and Jakobstadt the swedes obliterated armies much bigger then their own. "How?", you might ask yourself. And I'm going to tell you, but first let me introduce myself. My name is Mangus Stenkulle, i am an Kavalleriöverste in Smålands Första Division. Basically i command all the cavalry in the army of Småland, i strongly believe that in order to be successful in the future you have to study the past. So i went to the national academy and started studying the feared and revered "Gå-På" tactic, i quickly realized its potential and therefore i convinced General-Överste Adam Gemauerthof the commander of the Division to re-initiate this tactic.

How the tactic works

The tactic was created to fit the Swedish army 21 years ago. The army was almost always smaller then any foe they meet. so in their situation they want to get in a position where the numbers didn't matter, the ideal time for the caroleans to get in this position was melee. If you didn't already know, to caroleans were godlike in melee, sufficiently crushing anyone who thought that he could kill a caroleans in hand-to-hand combat. You can pretty much say that the same second the swedes started their melee charge, the battle was won. As said the only efficient way to hold a carolean charge was to outnumber them hugely. The gå-på tactic would start with the infantry marching forward on the enemy, completely ignoring the enemy fire. When they were about 50 meters away and could see the white in their enemies eyes, they would form two rows and fire. At this short range such a volley was devastating. Then while the enemy still had the smoke in their eyes, the caroleans would charge. They hit an un-prepared enemy at full force, often the first and second row just disappeared under the volley and charge. Next step the cavalry would try and outflank the enemy, preferable get behind them. Then while the enemy is still busy with trying to repulse the infantry, the cavalry put in the cup de grace by attacking the enemy in the back. Almost all times, mass confusion would start and that would develop into a mass rout. But then again, you can imagine how annoying it is when 6000 heavy cavalrymen charge at full speed straight into your back.

You see now? its not impossible for David to defeat Goliath, all you need is a few thousand Caroleans.

We hope to be able to try out this tactic soon enough.

Formation of the Emperial Scandanavian Police Force

With my appointment as Minister for the Police, I have some bright ideas that will ensure the safety of the people of Scandanavia.

1 - The Police Force is very small if compared the ones of France, Prussia and Great Britain. In order to keep up with the competition I ask for a 70 Million Swedish Krona project to enlarge the police force to 150,000 members.

2 - Our Police force isn't equiped with the most advanced weapons, clothes etc. One of my plans are to make some 50,000 winter coats for our members. In adition to that during the summer where our members who wear their most 'beautiful uniform' I think that the people would love a new look then the traditional red and white. I call for a Blue, red and white uniform just like our flag. Very patriotic no?

3 - A deployement of around 40,000 members to our new province of Finland. We need to make sure that there are no Russian simpotisers and spies. We need to make sure that order is keeped there until a provincial government and a Finnish police force is established.

As of now these are my 3 plans. Many more to come in the near future.

New Flagship for the Imperial Navy

His Most Scandinavian Majesty has visited the Imperial Naval Academy, that has been on the Order to build a new Flagship for the, by then known as the Swedish Royal Navy, Imperial Scandinavian Navy. The 1st Rate Ship of the Line, by the Name of "Kejsar Fredrik", as the Kejsar himself has decided to name it, will be setting sail this Week. The Grand Admiral of the Imperial Navy is preparing the last steps and manning this Beast of the Ocean, holding 100 Cannons and 400 Sailors.

Accords of the Empire

The Kingdom of Sweden occupies the Kingdom of Denmark-Norway, forcing the Monarch to abdicate the Crown to His Most Scandinavian Majesty, Fredrik I. By the Date of 18.08.1721, the Empire of Scandinavia is hereby declared a Sovereign Empire, with His Most Scandinavian Majesty Fredrik I. as the Protector of the Northern Realms and Head of the Swedish Church.

The Ottoman Empire and the newly formed Scandinavian Empire agree on a mutual Attack on the Russian Empire, forcing it into a Two Front War from North and South. The Russian Empire cannot stand the Attacks and must withdraw from the North, hereby giving us the Finnish Lands. Soon after, the Southern Front cracked aswell and a Surge of Ottoman Troops invaded the Caucasus, ultimately deciding the Fate of the Russian Empire, whose Northern Forces have not even reached their Destination in the South in Time.

The Caucasus is united into an Emirate and given to the Ottoman Empire. With a strong Ally in the South, the Scandinavian Empire stands triumphant and is now deciding on its future Fate, feared and despised by the European Powers.
