sorry for the spam, however i rest my case, please do not ever suggest the gear is a fascist symbol and is not a symbol of socialism or communism, the cogwheel has been a large symbol of communism for a long long time, its not common to see it on flags, but emblems and other misc symbolism has the cogwheel quite often.

The Gear is not related to a political ideology, the Gear simply refers to Industry, the sickle is farming, the hammer is labour, and the gear is industry.

the JCP (Japanese Communist Party) also uses a gear, it is a red flag styled like the old windows logo (yes, unironically) with a silver gear in the center, an inside the gear is stalks of wheat growing out of it
