Hey, I've been away this week. I'm back now. Had a few people asking about the server map at the website being out of date. You can usually find the latest version here: http://playrust.io/#london (if I haven't had time to update the homepage)

Just got back from a mega-drive home so I'm exhausted but I'll try to get on top of any bits I've neglected in the next few days.

To clarify, wipe hits when update is out. It's still pending at the moment.

Just wanna share there is 5000 ping for every1 on the server and its down now

I've escalated the ticket with our provider and written an expanded and detailied description of the problems we are experiencing. I am trying to collect as much information as I can regarding the nature of the spikes.

Some of the things I need to narrow down include:

1. Are the spikes happening at certain (set) times throughout the day?
2. Does the total player count have a noticable impact or is it random?
3. Does it hit everybody at the same time?
4. How long does it last?

Once again you have my sincere apologies and rest assured I will do what I can to get things running smooth as quickly as possible.

P.S check out my full update at either of the active discussions regarding performance. (1k cap limit killing me)

I am aware that some players are having some issues with intermittent lag spikes, I've passed on the releveant details to our provider and will reply as and when I learn more.

Sorry for the performance problems working to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Greetings, sorry for the recent issues with server stability. There's been some issues with our DDOS filter, packet loss, etc. Server should be back up and stable for now and a few things are still being looked at to sure us up moving forward.

I'll keep a close eye on server uptime, stability, etc across this wipe and review the situation as it develops.

If I have to I can switch over onto backup systems / a seperate provider but until I know more I don't want to do that.

@MoR4t Well tomorrows wipe is going to be forced, so nothing we can do about that, but we will probably back onto the 2 week cycle

ok thanks @BRUISES nice to know active admins are working on the situation. May i ask due to the server down time will we get that time lost back to pro long the next wipe or is it a case we jump into next wipe :)

@MoR4t Waiting for a reply from Nitrous (Our provider) at the moment, few of the tests that have been run by ourselves and our server have all come up with nothing, so still working on it

Have we got a eta on server up ?

Ticket opened with support hopefully be sorted soon. Will let you know as I learn more.

I am sorry that I was not able to join in the fun of this relaunch. Work work work and no play for Mr Bubs at the moment. I hope all new and returning players are having fun and hope to see a few new faces in the group.

If you experience any nastiness, trolling, griefing or general bugs do get in touch as I will be around for the next couple of days to test out some of this exciting new stuff for myself.

Service provider have tweaked some settings, let me know if the lag persists.

Thank you @BRUISES really appreciate it! I was worrying because I was right in the middle of doing something and didnt want to lose all my stuff!

@SeeingTheBlues I've had a couple of report of lag, I've restarted the server and seemed to help, I'll look into it for you. In regards to antihack, I know it doesn't mean you're cheating, seems to be a bug with the game.
I'll try updating the server when I'm home, hang tight until then!

Theres extreme lag happening on the server right now and I keep getting kicked for "AntiHack" because I lagged through my front door.. Can I get some help please?

Is the wipe happening today? Or is it monthly?

...and Client Update is out.

Client update is a tad slow to release, when it goes live update your Rust game to the latest cliient build and you will be able to connect to the server.

@Mintberry - The patch cycle isn't helping us at all. I'll be pushing the server a lot more when the famed 'devblog 100' / xp system are updated. The lack of updates combined with erratic update and wipe schedules are making it difficult to maintain a steady population.

I'll do my best to ensure numbers start picking up again soon.

Sorry for downtime - didn't realise they'd pushed a server patch.

@muns over funs, terribly sorry about the down time, I wasn't aware the server was down. If you have any problems and they haven't been fixed within the hour, give us a message and I'll look into it :)

Any reason the server has been down since this morning? Does it have to do with the new update/wipe?

@Sencontrol - Hey Bud, glad you had fun with us and are interested in returning. We always welcome old players back into the fold and it would be great to see you on the server. As Bruises stated - we run no mods. All your crafting times, gathering rates, animal behvaour, resource nodes etc are bog standard. Some like it, others loathe it. That's just the way we do it.

@Sencontrol - Hey, no we don't have any mods on the server, we're completely vanilla. So grinding for your materials and using sleeping bags is a thing :)

I have only one qestion . I playd this server like 1 year ago and now i want to come back here and start to loot stones and somethink like that . That the qestion is - is there some modifications like x2 or sethome , becase i search for the hardcore server . And i like to know is there mods or not ???

@Callum1708 - Thanks for the feedback. I've been working the last few times we've experienced the lag spikes so I've not been able to tackle this head on myself. Our service provider have an active ticket with us and have been monitoring things for the last few days, they've tweaked a few things, tried different filters, logged on and checked out the server, etc and are struggling to get a grip on it.

I have also contacted other server Admins to see if it's a game-wide issue or specific to us.

The most likely culprit is DDOS attacks at the moment - and although we have DDOS protection so service is invulnerable to these types of attacks.

We are doing what we can to stabilize the server and I apologize for the disruption in service.

As soon as we know more, you will know as well.

The server is liturally unplayable at the moment. The ammont of lag is insane. Getting kicked due to the anti hack thinking i'm cheating when really i'm just lagging like hell isn't fun either.

I don't know what you can do to fix it but the server is just not fun to play on at the moment.

Update for server lag - our service provider have looked into the issue and changed some stuff on there end. We'll be running some further tests tommorow to make sure the problem has been eradicated.
