Alienware m17x R4, 32Gb ram, 2x 840 Pro Series Solid State Drive SATA III 512GB, Ati 7970m, Logitech G600, Win 8 64bit, Mikrotik RB751U-2HnD, 2Tb Nas

got a m17x r4 with 7970m. im running bf3 and crysis 2 on ultra. just sick!

Is anyone with an M17x R3 and GeForce 580m (on the 296.10 drivers) having issues with their Steam in-game overlay? Mine doesn't seem to be working for games like Borderlands and Magic the Gathering - yet it works for Left 4 Dead 2, etc... Why do some games fail to start the overlay process? Is there a workaround for this?

Well, I am not a alienware fanatic but the specs are good but the prices for them is a bit high. I recently got a ASUS G53SX laptop w/ a i7 2720QM and a GTX560M 128-bit. I just noticed that a 192-bit performs better than the 128-bit version. Some say that the GTX460M 192-bit performs better, but I say that the GTX560M 128-bit is still alot stronger than the GTX460M because of the higher clock rates, just that the low bus rate drawn the performance alot closer to the GTX460M.

Intel Core i7 2820QM 2.3GHz (3.4GHz Turbo Mode, 8MB Cache), 4GB RAM (2x2GB), 1.5TB Raid 0 (2x 750GB 7,200RPM), 1.5GB GDDR5 Nvidia GeForce GTX 460M 3D, Windows 7 Ultimate, 3D ENABLED.

hey guys, i've got the alienware m17x with dual gforce 260's and 4 gigs of ram, dual core 3.2 ghz. anyhow, i've had some stuttering on fallout new vegas when running it in full settings, and it usually occurs when i look up or look really fast, like swing the view around, etc. could it be that i need more ram? surely it's not the dual graphics cards. what do you guys think?

I love my M17x tbh, 260M's are the more stable cards ever, never had a problem with this system for a year.

Mr. drugs you have the ati cards in your M17x, hybrid sli graphics is a nvidia feature. yeah deathsaver you should handle bbc2 no prob.

hey is the alienware really worth it? cos i ordered mine with core i7 920, 8gb ram, dual radeon 4870 crossfire. does it run bf bad company 2 well?

Anyone else have problems with random poor performance with their HD Radeons 4870x2 ? Seems like it wants to run like crap sometimes then run amazing. Also why is "Hybrid Graphics" greyed out in bios? I searched all over for these answer's but nothing.

Just a note to say hi...been a steam user for 5-6 years but never knew about this group...own a M17x fitted to the gills and have owned a few previous models including the dreaded XPS via Dell... mostly a Eve player for 6 years, Red Ochestra and SH III, SH IV and well to many to list...Cheers

Where'd you get your AO3 BIOS?

yeah just installed the AO3 BIOS last night. solved everything. wasn't able to play a single game prior to the installation.

AO3 BIOS update has been released, it's not like the M15x Issue, well at least it worked ok for me.

WIth the new win7 install I decided to bring back some steam. See you out there (css, tf2)

new vid drivers on dell.com . Go grab them :D

also disable the integrated graphics on your BIOS, if you are using SLI. Also check on Nvidia panel if its ON. If you play new games that dont use SLI capability, download nHacer, to create SLI profiles

when a game lags, its because you need to turn on the stealth mode on the computer, press the right side button on your t-pad buttons (where the volume buttons are), and select YES. Thar would make the m17x use 100% of power, and the games will work flawless

I just got my Alienware m17x 2 days ago I dowloaded empire total war and I was shocked by the way the game lagged.. could some1 help
