[GROUP BUY] SPACE MINING CLICKER

I tagged this post as a group buy but technically it's just a general offer, there are enough keys that this offer is available to anyone interested in the game.

The developer of SPACE MINING CLICKER (currently banned on Steam) contacted me yesterday explaining that he still has quite a few spare keys for his game available, and is looking to sell off what he has left. All required information is available in his thread, linked below. There is no restriction on the number of copies you can buy, but please don't go crazy.

Game: Space Mining Clicker
SteamDB[steamdb.info]
Community Hub
Steam-Tracker[steam-tracker.com]

Offer Post: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/RemGC/discussions/0/3199241242399578547/

Banned game tracking / gift inventory support added to Steam-Tracker

To have your banned games tracked automatically on the site you can add our bot here: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198054962002/
There's still plenty of room on its friends list. It may take up to 12 hours for every possible game to show up on your profile and as with the normal methods your profile needs to be public for it to work.

The inventory support lets you see a little more information about your (and everyone elses) Steam gifts and hopefully gauge their rarity a little better.
On your own inventory page you can also save a price (in keys) for each gift in case you're looking to sell any. These don't currently show anywhere else, but you can link the page itself if you want to give someone your price list. It's viewable without logging in. There'll also be an export button for the list in the future so you can paste it to whatever other websites you want to trade on.
The inventory pages can be found at https://steam-tracker.com/user/<steamid>/inventory and at the bottom left of profile pages.

If you don't want your inventory to be shown on the site, you can make it private at https://steam-tracker.com/edit/settings
[NEWS] Steam Tracker Can Now Detect Steam Learning Games

As a result of new changes to the api (or something that was there and unnoticed until now, I haven't looked into it myself yet), it is now possible for sites to properly detect Steam Learning games as owned. As a result, profiles on Steam Tracker[steam-tracker.com] are now being updated with users' owned removed and purchase disabled Steam Learning games (remember that your Steam profile has to be public for the site to update your information), though if you're in a rush to check you can scan your profile using the method described in the previous group announcement. For anyone who has been collecting these games despite being untrackable until now, this should add quite a bit to your current totals.

For those of you concerned about a requirement increase, there is going to be no change as of now, at least not until some time next year, so for those of you looking to join who were close, this is a good time to take a look at your updated counts.

And for those of you still waiting for an invite request to be accepted, I'll hopefully get to everyone by the end of this month, and with this extra data, it should help quite a few users who made a request before they actually met the requirement (which is about 85% of the requests received at this point).

[GROUP INFO] Yearly Group Update

Sorry to be quiet for so long, but most of you should already know that I only post a few updates per year. There's not much to discuss right now so I'll keep this update shorter than my last few posts.

First, the state of the scanner. You have probably already noticed that the scanner has not been updated in quite some time. With the large amount of games removed towards the end of last year and my own life getting in the way, updating the database with new games became a challenge, and I only kept falling further behind as time went on. As a result, I decided to stop updating that database altogether, and instead have switched over to using Steam Tracker[steam-tracker.com] instead. Cae has added a functional scanner to the site to allow users to scan their profile without requiring you to sign in to the site itself, for people who did not want to. There is currently no interface for the scanner, and right now it will simply involve adding your steam64 id to the end of the link (which will be posted below). This will provide you with an up to date count. For users who do not want to manually input the link every time to check your profile (or someone else's), you can add the link directly to Augmented Steam (which allows for custom links). I'll explain how to do this a little farther down.

As for group specific updates, there isn't much to report. The group requirement will remain the same, currently standing at 200 removed + purchase disabled games (of course limited to only scannable games, which ignores both banned and steam learning games). The forums seem to be fine for the most part, with limited spam occasionally but nothing out of control.

Also, while it was mentioned multiple times in the past, it was recently brought up again that users who post about at risk or removed games should include some mention of the game name somewhere because after a game is removed, it just leaves behind a dead widget. It's a fair point, and while I usually try to add names, community links and steamdb links to my own posts, most people don't seem to do so. I'll leave a sample format for people to copy for those of you who would like to provide more information in your posts.

I know the activity in the group may seem slower than what it used to be in the past, and I know I've been slow to reply to join requests over the last few months (like I said earlier, real life stuff, but I'll get back to it as soon as I can) but I'd like to thank everyone who has stuck around with us over the years and continued to help Removed Games Collectors become a resource for everyone interested in collecting games on Steam.

Scanner Link (add your Steam64 ID after the final slash): https://steam-tracker.com/scan/
Example: https://steam-tracker.com/scan/76561197994153029

Adding The Link To Augmented Steam:

Install the Augmented Steam extension in your preferred web browser.

At the top of any Steam page, next to your notifications, click the Augmented Steam drop down menu. Select Options.

On the left menu, select Community, followed by Profile. You should see a list of checkboxes under "Show profile links to".

At the end of the list, you should see a blue box that says "Add custom link". Click it.

For name and icon, you can use whatever you like. For name I use Removed Game Scan (Tracker), and the icon is currently having issues. For the link, use the following (without the quotes), "steam-tracker.com/scan/[ID]". Do not add https:// or www. to the beginning of the link, those will be added automatically when the link is generated on profile pages.

Your settings should be saved automatically, so when you're done, you can close the tab.

For those of you who do not have Augmented Steam installed, you can find the installation info for your browser here: https://es.isthereanydeal.com/

Post Format Example:

[b]Game Name[/b]

https://steamdb.info/app/[app id]/ or https://steamcommunity.com/app/[app id] (or both)

https://store.steampowered.com/app/[app id]

Announcement Link (if relevant) or a brief explanation for the reason the game was mentioned.

[quote]Copy the portion of the announcement that is important and paste it here to make it easier to search or read if the announcement is edited or deleted.[/quote]

[GROUP INFO] Requirement Update Update

I'm not going to say much here, I'd just like to provide an update regarding the change in the group requirement. The new entry level for the group will be 200 removed and purchase disabled games (combined total), just like I stated would be the most likely outcome in the previous announcement. Rather than taking effect today, though, I will wait until the sale ends, making the change effective on July 9, 2019 at 1:00 PM EST. If you manage to meet the old requirement of 130 removed games before that time, you're still welcome to submit an application or request an invite.

Just a note about invite requests, though, up to this point I've been keeping requests pending that show at least some progress towards meeting the group requirement, giving people a chance to get closer to the total. This also applied to people with hidden game counts that I was unable to verify. Going forward, though, if your profile is private or your game count is hidden when I check your status, or you do not meet the current requirement (within maybe 5 games or so), I will be rejecting the requests going forward, meaning you will have to resubmit an application (because it does not let users request to join a group again after being rejected). It will make accepting new members much easier for me in the future.

[GROUP INFO] Group Requirement Update and Additional Features

I know it's been a while since I last posted an announcement, and I missed making my usual February 1st update, but I figured now was as good a time as any to update everyone on the current state of things.

First, I'd like to notify everyone that the group requirement will be changing in a few weeks to better reflect the current state of removals from the store. As many have noticed, most of the removals at this time are the results of developer bans, which results in api banned games that cannot be scanned by normal means and, as a result, cannot count towards the group requirement. Also, in what seems to be a change of habit by Valve, rather than removing the store pages for most intentional removals now, the store pages are left up with a notification on the page clarifying that the game was removed at the request of the developer or publisher. This also means that most games no longer available on the store that can be scanned would not count towards the group requirement.

In reaction to these changes, I would like to say that purchase disabled games will, going forward, count towards the group requirement. The requirement total will, of course, increase to reflect this change, but as it opens up a lot of easily obtainable and common games, for most users who are close to the current requirement this should be good news. I don't know the exact number for the new total, but the change should go into effect on July 1st, 2019.

For anyone interested, what I used to do when determining the group requirement (before api banned games) was choose an appropriate value between 20-25% of the total number of removed games, with an adjustment based on the number of readily available games sold through legitimate sources. Since it's been almost 2.5 years since the last increase, doing that now (based only on the number of actual scannable games), would probably be quite a shock to most, landing in the 250-300 range because of the nearly 1300 detectable, but I probably will keep the number closer to 200, give or take.

Second, the public-only removed game discussion thread got off to a, well, rocky start. There are still off topic discussions and arguments occurring in the thread, but I still believe that having only one dedicated thread for everyone to post in cuts down on double posts and ensures people don't miss information posted in only one of multiple locations. I still believe that the current system encourages people to post, and that's what I've always wanted to see from this group. I am trying to keep the thread moderated, and I'm sorry if sometimes I'm a bit slow to intervene, but I'm doing the best that I can and I hope everyone can appreciate that.

Lastly, as for the current discussion about the discord server, yes, we have one. It was created a few years ago by one of our previous members and does have the occasional post that isn't mentioned here, just like the occasional post is not carried over to the discussion there. I have made multiple attempts to encourage members on the discord server to make posts here, but just like anything else, there's always the assumption that someone else will do it, which gets us nowhere. Most of the information we get on the server comes from bot feeds, which is basically information about games that have just been removed, rather than games that will be removed. While it is not a direct invite to that server, I have set up an alternative that should satisfy at least most of the people here, a server dedicated to a variety of different steam feeds, set up by members of this and other communities. Regarding what will happen with invites to the main RemGC server, I'll have to figure out the best approach going forward and will update everyone on the status when I decide. For now, the feed server is linked below.

Steam Feeds: https://discord.gg/Cb3Mt2t

I'd also like to welcome nearly 50 new members who have recently been invited from clearing up hundreds of pending group requests (which are always swarmed by people who aren't even close to the requirement, most hovering under 5 owned removed games). Thank you for your patience and sorry about the delay, and as of this moment, all invites are currently up to date.

To close things up, I know that not everyone is around at all times to see new announcements pop up, and there are significantly more non-members keeping an eye on the group than there are members, who wouldn't get the notification to begin with. As a result, I've made a thread dedicated to reposting group announcements so people receive a notification on Steam when a new one is made. Please follow the thread if you're interested in receiving new updates regarding the group.

https://steamcommunity.com/groups/RemGC/discussions/9/1639788130287942731/

Thank you for taking the time to read this oversized announcement and if anyone has any questions or concerns, as always, use the comments below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

[GROUP INFO] New Removed Game Discussion Thread

This group has been a source of information for nearly five years now, and over time, I've seen that a lot of my earlier concerns have been baseless. I originally thought that having the removed game discussion thread (along with other subsections of collecting) limited to the Removed Game Information section in order to avoid spam would be best, but after having the public section of that thread active for over 2.5 years now, I can clearly see that allowing everyone interested to easily participate in the discussion has only helped this group to grow. It has been the most active thread in the group and has provided a lot of up and coming members with a chance to ask questions and contribute to the community.

As a result, I will be closing most of the remaining discussion threads related to removed games, dlcs, and software and combining them into one central discussion thread in the public section to avoid confusion and allow for one primary location for people to post and search for related information. The new thread will be linked below, and will include links to all existing threads that have been part of the removed game discussion so far. The threads that will be closed are linked below, and the link to the new thread will be added as the final post of each of the closed threads for anyone who is currently subscribed to make an easy transition.

Existing Threads:

[Public] Removed Game/DLC Discussion

Games with a High Risk of Removal - Discussion Thread [Part 2]

Removed and Purchase Disabled Games - Discussion Thread [Part 2]

New Thread:

Removed and At Risk Game, DLC, and Software Discussion
