Personal story: I had strabismus and double vision that were ruining my life, a true nightmare.

It's been a year since I had the surgery, I was struggling recovery and frustrated with exercises until I had an idea: What if I played shmups instead? The major skill required by those games is dynamic screen/pattern reading and most vision exercises are quite similar. Maybe it was worth a shot!

IT WORKED! In the past 5 months I've been playing nonstop and had dramatic improvement. I'm past my prime, I was never good at shmups despite of playing a lot in the 90's, but this year I got my first 1ccs in a bunch of Touhou games. Yesterday, I finally managed to get a arcade 1cc playing Ikaruga on my Switch!

I'm still miles away from a 1cc at something like Crimzon Clover and Dodonpachi or anything past the normal difficulty, but I would like to thank those amazing games from the bottom of my heart for helping me improve my health. Once you get to enjoy shmups it's very hard to stop <3
