Event/Sale-page issue (auto-scrolling panels)
I've noticed a new behaviour that I *strongly* dislike, I'll try to explain what and why.

The [event] Sale* page consists of many panels**, featuring various games or dlc's.

(*like, "Spring Sale", I encoutnered the issue on the
currently ongoing https://store.steampowered.com/developer/capcom/sale/spring -page)

(**the panels on the page with a game or category as it's title, like "Devil May Cry" or "Upcoming Releases" containing a number of images of games being featured in the event/sale)

These panels can have many "pages" of things, and you can click large arrows on the side of each panel to browse more things in that category.

---
My issue:
These "pages" now "auto-scroll", not unlike how the store-page of a game will cycle through screenshots at the top of the page.

However, since these categories/panels are not just one element isolated at the top of the page, this is *extremely* jarring to me.

They often will cycle while I'm looking at/reading through the panel, or, a panel I scrolled past above the one I'm currently reading will suddenly reload, jerking my focus away from the panel I'm currently reading, which then in turn makes said panel load it's next page before I'm finished reading through it etc.

When multiple panels do this at once, it looks like the entire event-page is randomly reloading itself, or failing to laod properly.
(I actually thought this was the problem at first.)

I'd really, *really* like an option to toggle this behaviour off, it's incredibly uncomfortable.

I know such a thing already exists, because any panel will indivdually stop auto-scrolling if you manually flip pages, but I'd like to not have to scroll through a page and click every panel, every time I open an event/sale page, just to be able to read through the page without issue.

If this is a behaviour that's here to stay I'd like something like the "Don't auto-play trailers/videos" option on the store-page.

This is the sort of thing that's so uncomfortable for how I read a page that I almost opted out of the beta immidiatly.
It's really hard to describe how distracting it is to my eyes (or focus).
It's comparable to trying to read a manual or guide to find an obscure setting for your TV or PC, while someone is poking the side of your face going "Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey." :P

---
Less important side-note(s):
(1/2)
This is probably made worse by the fact that my steam-client is on a portait-mode monitor, so it's possible that I see more panels/categories at any one time than intended.
(though I'm sure I'd find it just as distracting on my main monitor)

(2/2)
Also,
if you don't already know where to leave beta-client feedback, this place is somewhat hard to find.
The only way to get here in the client was to go to the generic community-page (something I never visit, since you almost always get to the comunity-page of your choice from the game-library or the store-page)
and even from there, it's only in the "top community" thing on the side of the page

it did not show up when I searched communities for "steam beta",
(possibly beacause it's not a game?)

I feel like it could maybe use something like a button at the bottom of the page, alongside the
"about Valve"
"contact support"
"etc" -buttons
..or maybe somehwere else, maybe in the "Steam" or "Help" dropdown menus, but something that gives you some sort of direct link here if you are using the beta-cielnt version.

It almost seems like a bug.
I was looking around, and it doesn't seem to be happening on every event/sale page
(this is probably the reason I haven't seen it until now)

For example, these two pages (also currently ongoing) behave in the way I expect them to:
https://store.steampowered.com/sale/triple-i-initiative-2026
https://store.steampowered.com/category/hidden_object?tab=8

They have the same type of "panel" as this page
https://store.steampowered.com/developer/capcom/sale/spring

with a name, arrows, and multiple pages per panel,
but only the capcom event-page has the "auto-scrolling" behaviour.

In my case, I'd just not encountered it ever until now, so I just assumed it was a new Beta-Client thing.

It doesn't even necessarily happen on every panel on the pages it's happening on. Which has me suspecting that it's something the person who sets up the event/sale page has control over... but us end users should also have an override option like "I don't ever want the scrolling."
