@Sevin Dont forget that the normal melée infantry excel against the counter melée infantry
Also in AoE2 HD there are gonig to be Hablediers, wich is the upgraded version of pikemen since it includes AoC

Yep everything has a counter in this game

I would take it that pikemen vs cav gives the pikeman an advantage.

The number in the first column of defense signifies hand to hand the second is range defense example the huskarl from the goths is 0/6 0 defense hand to hand but against archers he is. Certain units are just better against other example halbeirers against Paladins (2-1) ratio

+1/-1, 0/+1 etc. I don't know how to read what it means.

Yes, sevin kevin I hope you were not being sarcastic lol but if look at the armor ratings and such you'll see advantages against certain units

The multiplayer gameplay is just about all my dreams combined in one.

I found AoE around 2010, wasn't able to play online but had fun in single-player anyhow. I particuarly enjoy the historical connotations and education (the History menu is just plain awesome). I eagerly look forward to the HD version, with the enhanced graphics, fully patched multiplayer gameplay and...achievements!

Is that true that some units work better against others? I never knew that, I thought only AoE3 had that.

All I can say whoknows362 is it's like finance match your resources going out to resources coming in. This aswell as learn what unit counters which. There is alot to learn about this game and it never gets old!

Hey guys. What are your strategies? I found a free version thats only a trial version and I am practicing right now. (I can only use the britons in the trial version) Any ideas on how to beat two AI's. I forgot how to play the game right.
