Can't the group be renamed? "S! Lives!" would sound much better than "S! is dead" (also it seems the group has been rather forgotten since S! is back)

I never mentioned anything about deleting this group.
and if Rod and Louva can't get the forums up again, there's always the choice of starting over.

It could still be a long while until we see the forums back, and Steam groups can't be deleted anyways Deeps, might as well keep it up and post news on the site status.

great to hear the site coming back up, but after this fiasco, they need to step up their backup systems to ensure nothing like this can happen again for some time

Don't know finzy, but from what i've heard, the recovery thing hasn't yielded anything. So basically back to last backup. But at least with the site up, we'll be able to have news posts.

Do you guys know of any groups that let you arange games? I wanna get Serious Coop and the Coin-Op Coop achievements, but most people in pub games don't know what they're doing and ragequit within a few minutes of joining. It'd be nice to do Serious Coop with people that know where the secrets and the like are.

Cool. An annoucement for it on this page would be nice.

We've been waiting over a month for the SS forums to return; a few more weeks won't hurt. :P

what I meant was, with no real date when the site will be back, we might as well have a place in the meantime, where no trollers are (steam is full of em), until we do get S1 back.

We are still negotiating. If it all goes well and the site comes back soonish, all technical problems will be a thing of the past.

Just like the SS series, S! will never truly be dead as long as there are people around to support it.

I agree that it'd be a good idea to start over with a better host unless we somehow manage to find a recent backup. It just wouldn't be the same even if we got a backup from 08 working. :P Maybe this time they could work together with Croteam to create some "really" official Serious Sam community site? Angelo has also thought of adding forums to his serioussam.net site as an alternative.

Hey.. I was never really a part of the community on Seriously! as much as I wish I had been now, but this is still a real shame. And no possibly no backups? That makes me fear for my own data. :S

Hopefully you guys will be able to get back on your feet.. I think I might just have a few Second Encounter maps I downloaded from the site here for whenever that time rolls around. Good luck!
