Yep, it's not up and unfortunately there's nothing I can do about it until the provider gets back to me. Self-hosted I'll be in full control (apart from ISP problems). The server originally started off as self-hosted, but it was on my actual desktop computer so was only running when I was online, but nowadays I also have a spare, small, (relatively) power efficient computer that can run servers 24/7.

Having full control also helps with administration tasks, for example you could have a script that monitors the chat logs and adds a user to the banned_user file when they say "server sux". Very useful.

well the only thing which is wrong with the server is that it isn't up, lol.

I usually played it with a friend, certainly its more fun than the in game tank run mutation, if you ever find the time to fix it would be great

Please do comment here if anything ever goes wrong with the server, I might not play much these days but I try to keep my stuff working - especially if I know people are actively using and enjoying it! In fact I can start creating events again if people are still interested. If you're interested in actively playing in the server, let me know here.

I might be moving to a self-hosted setup for the server in the future, provided the impact on pings is relatively imperceptible, but that probably won't be coming for at least a year or two.

the server was down for about half a year, maybe you should change your provider, its a fun server and unique in comparison with other tank rushes would be a shame to shut it down

Please see the "Hosting Your Own Tank Run Lobbies" section above, it explains how to make your own lobbies connect to the server so you can play in whatever gamemode you wish. I'll make sure the server is set to start in coop mode anyways.

why is it that when i join it's versus please change it to campain

when i join a tank run server it's on versus not normal campain. Someone help?

Use "Connect to Our Server" in the group's links, enter "connect 88.150.145.85:27015" into the Left 4 Dead 2 console or refer to section "Hosting Your Own Tank Run Lobbies" if you... want to host your own Tank Run lobbies. You can also use the "Steam Group Server" option for server type in Left 4 Dead 2 as long as you are a member of this group.
