Graphics? Absolute extasy. Everything else? Near catastrophe.
Some people claimed that this is just another Far Cry. No! You are so wrong! We can wish this was like Far Cry.
The world map is absolutely static, no encounters, no ambushes. NOTHING! So many under the hood systems are missing. Things ever present since Far Cry3. So huge step back.

Hell, even all fights where your allies fight too are scripted animation! The base game never really showed you ally npc combat AI...

So yes, at first you easily lose yourself to the beauty. Huge prompts to the people behind the visual aspect of the game, stunning work.
Shame it's eventually fu***d up with the rest of "Not really so much even Far Cry things"

And as a last funny fact about the coop. How many entities are even synced over the network. Well.
On average: Far Cry 5 does 4-5MB of multiplayer data in 5 minutes
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ does 0,7-1,5 MB of multiplayer data in 5 minutes
You can say "Well compression simply got better" Well it didn't, the world in this game is simply heavily static.

This DLC is exactly what the base game should have been. Sorry not sorry, YES! DLC... Way better and more enjoyable than the base game.

The server situation is absolutely horrible. Because of it, players host the servers themselves on a client, resulting in "I have to go bye" scenarios where the server just shuts down and duh.
Just release the server software on steam so it is easily deployable.

Another problem is, TF2 Classified does not feel like TF2 Classic... Funny enough.

And the last thing is bugs and visual side.
In addition...
The mod now uses TF2 directly, ditching Source SDK Base 2013 Multiplayer.
So now the game is stripped of those nice details like mag drops entirely, bullet shells from other players and etc.

I acknowledge after the official SDK got released, it must have been a ton of work.
But it is very undercooked, released too early and does not live up to the glory of the original builds.

Absolute legendary gem, ran like a charm on older hardware too back in 2007. Ahead of it's time, truly. They don't make games like this any more.

Early Access Review
Catchy story, visuals and overall aesthetics. Everything else, horrible.

Wild Ride, Chaos and Immersion. Best Co-op experience I ever had. And back then (2018) Far Cry 5 also changed my view on the world.
Whenever I go back to play more, it's always a good experience, year after year. And to be fair, Far Cry 6 release made me appreciate this gem even more.

Yes, New Dawn feels, experimental and very short. But if you are truly immersed in the Far Cry 5 story, the experimental part won't bother you much no matter what. The short part will xp.
Also definitely buy it on a sale. The current price, (45€) is inappropriate.

Truly a timeless classic. This game survived insane stuff, and it is backed up by the most amazing community ever.

After Alpha 15/16, the development took a path that slowly destroyed that, why i bought the game in a first place.
Not to mention what v1.0+ did.
Stripping already working systems and mechanics. Killing the sandbox basically.
Sorry not sorry but this is just a money grind by the Devs, using old fame of the original good old alphas.
Heck, they even can't fix the performance with high tier POI's.

I really miss the days, when i went through a town and fired my gun. Party hard started in many houses, zombies breaking out and chasing after the sound.
Now? Unless you enter POI and walk the "INTENDED PATH!!!" You get nothing x3

There are tons of screwed up things over the time, tho there are many videos on YT covering that so yeah. No need for me to address them all here.

So yeah buy this on sale at least. And check out the alphas so you see what they did with the game. Start with Alpha 15.

It works, the Steam networking really does it's magic. Tho you have to type "status" in console to get id and then connect with it, which some people still might not know about.
Also it tends to crash with 3+ players on a server for some reason.
