ive people have been injured in a train crash near the German city of Düsseldorf, German police say.
A passenger train collided with a freight train in the town of Meerbusch, according to reports.
In a tweet, the Meerbusch fire department said rescuing people from the train was the main priority.
It estimated that there were 150 people on board at the time of the crash. Meerbusch is in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany's most populous state.
Meerbusch fire department said that its staff were "in contact with the people on the train", adding that full access to the passengers "should be possible".
The accident occurred at about 19:30 local time (18:30 GMT), according to a statement from Germany's state-owned railway group Deutsche Bahn.
A police spokesman earlier told German broadcaster ARD that about 50 people had been injured in the train crash.
The cause of the collision is not yet clear.

This hostel is in a beautiful building at one of the entrances of the park. The facilities are really clean, large dining area and clean bathrooms. Never had to wait for a shower or space to use the sinks. There is plenty of showers and restrooms on every floor and even a girls only section. The numbers on the bunks could be more visible especially when arriving late in the evening. I went to sleep on the only bunk available only to later be awakened by someone new saying that was their bunk. As it turned our there was a stranger sleeping in my assigned bed. When asked to show his paper which state his room number and bunk he said he couldn't but that he'd be right back and go talk to reception. He left with nothing in hand and never returned to collect anything.
