But if people are buying skins in the free game, isn't that buying the skins for Warzone? And like I said before, these weren't marketed as "X skin, usable in Warzone as a bonus," they were marketed as "X/Warzone skins." I'm not discounting Activision's grimy business practices because of semantic technicalities.

no we AREN'T buying for Warzone we're buying for the main game but usable in Warzone.

So we ARE buying the skins for Warzone and not for the mainline game? And given that they did everything in their power to make MW19 as unappealing as possible, I don't think they're trying to make people buy the mainline game to use their skins. I think they just shut down Warzone to get people on the Warzone 2 ecosystem with nothing they previously purchased.

the only reason it gets so much time devoted to it is cause its free. you need people to buy skins in a free game so you need people to be interested. then they eventually buy the premium title too to keep using their skins.

If Warzone is "just a side mode"(Obviously not the case, given how much of the yearly cycle is devoted to it) and the skins being usable in Warzone is just a bonus, then their marketing should reflect that. Don't advertise skins as "X game/Warzone skins" if the Warzone portion is just a little bonus, and don't go selling this stuff to people who only have Warzone. It's not that hard to stop making excuses for Activision.
