CyberPunk Cupcakes with Glitchy Glaze and Bug Sprinkles (Makes 12)
Warning: May cause temporary internet outages and uncontrollable robot dance urges. Consume responsibly.

Ingredients:

For the Cupcake Core:
1 cup all-purpose flour (certified bug-free, hopefully)
¾ cup granulated sugar (may contain trace amounts of binary code)
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder (darker than the deepest web)
½ teaspoon baking soda (freshly harvested from a dormant volcano, optional)
¼ teaspoon salt (pinched from a gamer's keyboard, for extra flavor)
½ cup vegetable oil (lubricates those download speeds)
1 egg (preferably laid by a chicken that used to be a pixel)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (flavor enhanced with virtual reality)
1 cup buttermilk (skimmed from the tears of frustrated tech support workers)
For the Glitchy Glaze:
3 cups powdered sugar (may come pre-hacked with tiny keyboard keys)
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (warmed by a dying laptop battery)
3-4 tablespoons milk (preferably sourced from a cloud server)
Neon food coloring (because regular colors are too mainstream)
For the Bug Sprinkles:
½ cup crushed gummy worms (the wigglier the better, they're escaping the code!)
¼ cup chopped green candy melts (toxic waste, but delicious)
Mini chocolate chips (representing rogue pixels)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (hotter than a flaming comment section). Grease or line a cupcake pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oil, egg, and vanilla extract.
Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined (a few lumps are like hidden Easter eggs in the batter, a delightful surprise).
Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (unless it comes out with a tiny error message, then bake for a few more minutes).
While the cupcakes cool, prepare the glitchy glaze. In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar. Gradually add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach a smooth, pourable consistency.
Separate the glaze into bowls and add neon food coloring to each. Now comes the fun part: get messy! Drizzle the colored glazes over the cooled cupcakes, creating a glitchy, multi-colored effect.
Finally, sprinkle the cupcakes with your bug buffet of crushed gummy worms, chopped candy melts, and mini chocolate chips.
Step back and admire your creation. Take a picture before they disappear into the digital void (or get eaten by your friends).
Enjoy responsibly! These cupcakes may cause temporary internet outages due to their extreme deliciousness.
