AT LAST… an INTELLIGENT question on Quora!
Well, bearing in mind that Pavlov’s dog wants to get a pat on the head for being a “good boy” but he also fears the pat might turn-out to be a very painful smack; (or in the case of a cat… a claw-infested SWIPE)… then the outcome is as predictable as it is inevitable…
In quantum terms, Pavlov’s dog is doomed to have a superpositional schitzophenic psychiatric-breakdown since he can never know for certain what is going to happen the second he opens that box. (Its a dog’s life!)
i.e.
“Will he discover the exciting reward of a very dead (and therefore safe) cat within the box …or will his curiosity be equally, but far-less pleasantly rewarded by a flurry of vicious, doggy-skin & fur slicing claws …followed-up by a set of savagely wide-spread jaws; both liberally studded with teeth and fangs the size and razor-sharpness of kitchen knives”?
