Really liking the demo so far, it feels completely different from all other "programming puzzle" games in a good way. The UI takes a while getting used to, but it's pretty intuitive after doing the tutorial stages. Definitely buying it once it's out.

As of 2025 May 26, the game supports Linux desktop systems properly. I'm glad the devs are willing to listen to players.
The gameplay itself feels quite a bit different from the original Splitgate, but personally, I like some of the additions. I feel like with some extra balancing the abilities could be made to feel less overpowered compared to portalplay, but that's what a beta is for. I'm pretty hopeful, so I'm changing my review to positive for the time being, and I'll see how the situation evolves.

Old review below:
The anticheat does not let you run the game on linux on anything other than a Steam Deck, and none of the workaround from protondb work anymore, it always fails with "Couldn't start the game executable.". I was hoping this "trend" was limited to gacha games only, but apparently every single anticheat is doing it now.

I came in with the expectation that it was gonna feel like an overengineered doom WAD, but if I didn't already know it was gzdoom, I would've never guessed it, so i'm pleasantly surprised
