Zhang Zhihe lived in the 8th century, during the Tang dynasty, and quit his official position in the capital to live in seclusion by a river. He wrote a very well-known poem which goes:

"Before Xisai Mountain white egrets take flight,
Peach blossoms float on the stream, and the mandarin perch are fat.
Bamboo hat of green hue,
Reed cloak in green through,
Slanted wind, fine rain - there's no need to return."
西塞山前白鹭飞，
桃花流水鳜鱼肥。
青箬笠，
绿蓑衣，
斜风细雨不须归。

Supposedly, he spent his time fishing, but never used bait. He didn't want to catch anything.
