Hey. For your Xcom question, I like to use the integrated dlc option. It takes a little bit more time to get the weapons from the Proving Grounds, but with that option you can easily avoid the bosses if you don't want to fight them or aren't ready. As long as you do a few "sabotage avatar progress" covert actions, then you can ignore the rulers facilities where they are located all game, or just wait until you have plasma weapons to make them easy to kill. You can even use a stealthed Reaper to spot them and just shoot them with a squadsight sniper outside of their range to kill them without them attacking back.
