Nice find - but it's the same in the original\vanilla version.

While the name in the EDB is indeed motte_and_bailey it's moot_and_bailey in the descr_cultures file so I am taking a guess that the descr_cultures entry is the actual reference.

Thanks for the help! The rebalance by the author of VK2023 is pretty questionable, so it’s better to leave this to you.

Well, the average purse is about 1800 denari. Keep in mind that this doesn't change during game play unless it's scripted. Personally I keep it a bit higher if the initial position is challenging, especially island based factions.
The starting money is mostly a matter of number of regions as well as initial infra structure. anything between 6-15K.

Got it, I understand. If I want to set a universal value for 26 factions, what values would you recommend for “denari” and “denari_kings_purse” based on your experience ?

kings purse is the money per turn the faction receives. And denari is the starting money. Ruel of thumb is that you average it out (the purse), somewhat proportional to the number of regions held at the beginning (the startingmoney).
