Alchemist Simulator has got an excellent core gameplay loop for a game designed to let you dress up your potions and roleplay as an alchemist. Slowly decorate and build your magical cottage as you grow your herbs, brew your potions, and concoct mystic ingredients. Sell cure-alls, wonder-drugs, or vicious poisons. This game lets you fulfil the exact role a shut-in alchemist from Skyrim or WoW might live.

No deadly enemies, just stubborn merchants trying to rip you off. Instead of grinding for drops, you're grinding up mushrooms to add to the cauldron. Tired of slaying bosses for a rare piece of loot? Try mixing dozens of ingredients to brew up the legendary Philosopher's Stone. It's a simple game, with simple mechanics, but the depths you will dive to create the most efficient potion will scratch an itch for satisfaction. The replayability is quite high, with earlier potions you've made having opportunity to optimize their recipes. You may have stumbled into a fortune of crystal ingredients, and now your health potions are far cheaper to mass-produce.

You can dress up your house, you can dress up your potions, hell you can even dress up your gardens to maximize your enjoyment. I brewed up 7 different pride flag-looking potions that gave all sorts of healthy benefits. I made viagra in a bottle, I made instant death, I made liquid luck, and I even concocted the secret to eternal youth. My customers came from all over. A rogue bought lock-picking acid from me. Geralt loved my pride flag potions. Nord-from-Skyrim was a frequent buyer of my slow-fall potions after he said something about a giant. Dave the Diver regularly cleaned me out of explosives, apparently he was blast fishing. Wizards wanted magic pick-me-ups, hookers just wanted to help their customers, necormancers wanted death in a bottle, and regular people from all over just needed some cheap healing potions.

The weakest part of this game is the bartering. There is some skill to it, but there isn't much to it beyond successfully click in the minigame, and the requirement to do it is pretty high, as it tends to increase your profits significantly. It shouldn't be more difficult, just needs more variety or complexity to properly round out this game.

I like the part where you make the potion.
