The Coma 2B: Catacomb — a good game or a failure?

As a true fan of The Coma series, I played the first game on both my PS4 and PC, and when The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters came out, I even played it in Steam Early Access. But The Coma 2B: Catacomb is something else entirely.

The game starts to suffocate you from the very first minute in the prologue, where the main character gets stuck in a time loop. At that point, I already wanted to delete the game, but I held back and kept going.

The final straw before uninstalling was when the game continued to overwhelm you after moving to the next location — the market. That’s where I completely lost it, because the frustration reached its peak. The new gameplay elements, like “trading items with vendors,” combined with not knowing what to do next, made me accidentally trade away a key story item, forcing me to start a new game.

I absolutely do not recommend this game, as it feels like a filler spin-off between the first and second parts.

Я, как истинный фанат серии The coma, проходил первую часть на своей PS4 и ПК, а с выходом The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters проходил эту игру ещё раннем доступе Steam, но The Coma 2B: Catacomb - это что-то невероятное.

Игра душит уже с первой минуты в прологе, где главный герой попадает в день сурка. Уже тогда я хотел удалить эту игру, но сдержался и пошёл дальше.

Последней каплей перед удалением стало то, что игра продолжила душить тебя после перехода на следующую локацию - рынок. Вот тут я сгорел окончательно, потому что духота достигла максимального уровня, а новые геймплейные элементы в стиле: "обмен предметов с продавцами" от незнания, что делать дальше, заставило меня проспать через обмен сюжетный предмет, из-за чего пришлось начать новую игру.

Максимально не рекомендую эту игру, так как это филлер спин-офф между первой и второй частью.

Як справжній фанат серії The Coma, я проходив першу частину на своїй PS4 і ПК, а з виходом The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters проходив її ще в ранньому доступі Steam. Але The Coma 2B: Catacomb — це щось неймовірне.

Гра починає душити вже з першої хвилини в прологу, де головний герой потрапляє в день бабака. Уже тоді я хотів видалити цю гру, але стримався і пішов далі.

Останньою краплею перед видаленням стало те, що гра продовжила душити після переходу на наступну локацію — ринок. Тут я остаточно згорів, бо духота досягла максимуму, а нові геймплейні елементи на кшталт «обміну предметів із продавцями» через незнання, що робити далі, змусили мене випадково обміняти сюжетний предмет, через що довелося починати нову гру.

Максимально не рекомендую цю гру, оскільки це філерний спін-оф між першою та другою частинами.

It´s sad but I think this is the worst game of the whole series (haven´t played The coma 3:Bloodlines yet), even the first one had fewer stuff but it did it mostly well, contrary to this one.
Like, this game borrows a lot and I mean A LOT, of the 2nd, feels like they reused at least 50% of the whole game and put it into this one, which in my opinion should have given them more time to plan the story and fix problems that might appear. The whole thing feels like they just wanted to make quick money, there´s many issues like; enemies attacking you while you´re interacting with something, the AI for the enemies seems too dumb at times, the threats that appear on many levels (sticky traps, poisonous gas or the living cameras) seem to be put in a way that´s not even a challenge more like straight up unfair, and i specially hated the nurse that appears in the hospital which is the fastest enemy in the game, appears almost intsantly and damages you, almost doesn´t walk through the corridors at all so you have pretty much no information of her location.
The previous game felt a bit easy at times and maybe they wanted to change that with this one but it seems like they just thought ´´more means better´´ and filled it whit ♥♥♥♥. Also at times it seems like the game lags which could be because of my computer but once again, i had no troubles with the previous one.
I feel like they should have just put this as a DLC for the previous one to show you the other side of the same story and put a little more work into this.
I think that, unless you´re a die-hard fan of the franchise, don´t bother with this one
