Almost 3.5 hours and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Even at the ~£10 original asking price, you are definitely getting your money's worth in terms of playtime.

Now, how you feel about that playtime is going to depend on how you regard both visual novels and business management sims, because this game is a blend of both. Large chunks of VN content, especially in the intro, followed by large portions of business sim.

However, instead of this being a very in-depth business sim, it does feel like it's more toned-down for a more casual style, which is fair given the point of this game. That isn't to say that there isn't stuff going on here though, because there is.

At least up until the point I'm at, you only get 1 Action Point per Day and per Night to perform certain actions, whether building/upgrading rooms in the hotel, going out on an expedition, cleaning the hotel, summoning in guests to boost revenue, resting to regain Sanity, or getting closer to the girls. There are also other actions tied to the other girls, but I haven't quite got there yet (I only just got Tlipoca). Some of these actions are also locked to Day-only or Night-only, so there is some level of decision-making there.

Each day as well, provided you have earned enough coin, you can perform an "Oracle", which will give you a stacking buff to an aspect of the hotel, up until the end of the month (in-game time). You can also interact with various guests, who will ask for items, food or other little mini-quests in exchange for items and Gold, or more Oracles.

In regards to the story, if you have absolutely zero base knowledge of Chinese or Lovecraftian mythology, you will likely have a hard time understanding anything that's going on. This game throws out a lot of names and spiritual terms, and expects you to kind of know what they are. For me personally, I found the story much more enjoyable than I first expected, given its heavy reliance on spiritual and mythological elements.

Now yes, there's clearly some wonky translation, typos and such, and one of the girls is particularly bad with her dialogue, given it simply doesn't work when translated to a language that doesn't have regional dialects like China does. However, I have played other games by major Chinese game devs (notably MiHoYo) that also sometimes have really poor translation with a bunch of typos and such, so I'm not going to hold that against this game, which is by a much smaller dev and is much smaller in scope. Even if they used DeepL or some-such to translate it to save costs, it really doesn't bother me.

Same kind of thing for the art. Nothing immediately screamed AI at me, and I've seen a lot of AI "art" and GenAI assets and such, and even online there's no consensus or source for the claims that this game does use it. At least in my opinion, everything that matters is human-made, and looks good, especially the girls and their CGs.

Overall, I'm enjoying my time with this one, and am glad I picked it up. £7 feels like a steal, given there are some ~2 hour VNs that cost more than that, while this one offers so much more.
