The highly anticipated title Subnautica 2 just revealed their release date - which falls exactly on our planned release date May 14th. Even though we are very hyped for their game and big fans of the franchise, we think that it is best to not compete with such an highly anticipated title on that day.

We need to dodge the Leviathan, which means that you can start your road trip on earlier! With Subnautica 2 launching on May 14th on Steam and Xbox, Outbound will now release earlier on May 11th on Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox - with the other consoles following on May 14th!

Please note that this change means, that the demo will go offline on May 8th.

Outbound is coming earlier to PC and Xbox!

We need to dodge the Leviathan, which means that you can start your road trip earlier on PC and Xbox! With Subnautica 2 launching on PC and Xbox on May 14th, Outbound will now release earlier on these platforms, arriving May 11th with the other consoles following on May 14th.

We’ve had to make the difficult decision to delay Outbound to May 14th.

Late in the process, an issue has been identified that could negatively impact your enjoyment of the game.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough time to still guarantee a release across all platforms on the originally planned date. Please be assured that our team has worked extremely hard to address this and did everything possible to stay on schedule.

We know that you may be disappointed by this news, but appreciate your understanding and believe the delay will result in a more polished, bug-free experience.

As a small thank-you for your patience, we’ll be keeping the free demo available for longer until May 12th.

Might be okay, but pushing your politics ruins the experience

I don't know why those on the left can't make literally anything (music, TV shows, games, etc) without pushing your politics. You seem to be incapable of this. No "gender", instead it's "body type". You have an ax but you can't cut down trees. Your vehicle is electric (of course it is), yet it's conclusively proven that the creation and maintenance of batteries is far more harmful for the environment than digging for oil. Demo performance on Steam Deck is unacceptable.

Why does a game that looks like something from 15 years ago runs so poorly on Steam Deck? 30fps with drops even below that level is simply unacceptable.

So the trailer on the store page says the 14th of May but the actual store page says the 11th. I'm just wondering why the difference and what the release date actually is
