Chicago Rust Server

Hey guys, first let me apologize for not posting that I'd be gone for a few days this last week. I run a security conference in Chicago and I was crazy busy.

With that out of the way, the server does appear to be stable now. So we are hoping we are out of the woods on the DDOS stuff. Maybe this post will make them start again. I certainly hope not but I'd rather us make it easy for everyone to know that the server is back to normal than for us to hide more.

We lost a lot of players it seems because of the troubles we had. We were just getting popular when those issues arose and so now I'm hoping we can rebuild that player count and get to the max of 100.

Also while I was gone there have been reports of admin abuse. I have seen the videos and I have heard the side of the admin that was accused. So we are not going to remove the admin rights for that user, but we have come to an agreement on how the powers are to be used. If they cross the line again then we will be taking action against them.

Also with that, we have dozeR who is going to be a admin now too. He will continue to play the game as a normal player and will act as a admin only when needed. Right now we are working out some kinks on how he can activate and de-activate his powers but they are mostly working. If you see that he is abusing his powers, please let us know but also for the first day or two while we work out the system try to understand that it may be a mistake if you shoot at him and he doesn't die. Just say something in chat.
