A group dedicated to combating Assassins Creed 2 DRM

Ubi Soft's highly anticipated Assassin's Creed 2 is coming to the PC in March. Unfortunately, it includes a form of DRM that requires a constant Internet connection. If that connection is interrupted at any time during play, all unsaved progress is lost.
This is an unacceptable requirement to consumers of PC games.
Those in this group recognize the very real damage to our hobby caused by games piracy, and have long tolerated DRM. This scheme is simply too heavy-handed, however, and intentionally degrades the legitimate player's experience with the aim of controlling the actions of others.

Ubi authentication servers down

One of the biggest concerns over Ubi's new DRM scheme was that it would totally disable the software players legitimately bought if there were a server issue on the company's end. Not for anything multi-player that would intuitively require connectivity, mind. This for a single-player game.
Turns out those fears were well founded. According to this story: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/98927-Ubisoft-DRM-Authentication-Servers-Go-Down those servers were down for at least 10 hours.
Remember to write those letters to Ubi Soft, and invite your friends to do so as well!

DRM scheme has already been cracked

According to RPS, the scheme has already been cracked. Ubi Soft seems to have informally confirmed this on its Twitter feed: http://twitter.com/Ubisoft/status/9968383494
What this means is that the new DRM scheme is no longer relevant to pirates. It serves only to hinder the gaming experience of legitimate customers. If you haven't written the company already, that would be an excellent point to include in a letter.
