General Vision (for Visitors)

We want Costa Rican teams to be able to compete against teams from all around the world.

But we can do that online!
Yes, but not at LAN speed. And you actually get to meet them in person.

Why should i go all the way to Costa Rica just to play some DOTA?
Because its a beautiful country. You are not supposed to only play DOTA the whole week, you should enjoy the beach, the nature and the culture. Samara is not yet a big resort town, so it still has retained some of that off the beaten path charm. Ticos (Thats what Costa Rican's refer themselfes too, a woman would be a Tica for example) are very friendly and hospitable people. There is a competitive MOBA scene here, and in my experience you have less toxicity with players from here then in the general average.

Whats the tournament gonna be like?
Nothing is set in stone yet, this project literally just started. It depends on the amount of players that register. The general idea is to have the main tournament running from Friday to Sunday and use the time before for getting to know each other, starting ad-hoc teams for people that come alone or in groups of less then five, training together and against each other, and of course see the sights!

Can we win money?
Yes there is gonna be a prize pool that will be divided between the top performing teams. The exact amounts will be determined as soon we know how many players registered.

But im poor! I cant afford this!
Im sorry to hear that, but we can help out. There is ways to live on a very low budget (hostels) and there will be a (albeit very limited) amount of slots for volunteers that get free admission in exchange for working one workshift.

Why do Ticos have to pay less for admission?
Because the average salary here is alot lower then for example in the USA.

When will this happen? How long will it be?
Spring 2018. One Week.

Some Info from us: the more players that come the better deals we will be able to make, which means lower fees for lodging, rebates for guided tours and other perks like that.

Sign-Up will open in due time as soon we have figured out all the basics.

Also: This will be a Amateur-Tournament for DOTA 2 purposes.

Queremos que los equipos de Ticos sean capaces de competir contra equipos de otros países.

Pero puedo hacerlo en linea!
Si, pero no a la velocidad de LAN. Y usted no consigue realmente cumplir con ellos en persona.

¿Por qué vendrían aquí a jugar con nosotros?
Porque están tomando unas vacaciones! Planeamos hacer esto en Guanacaste en la mayor área de Samara. Y no Tico necesita ser dicho cómo es hermosa esa área es :-)

Pero no puedo pagar los precios que una persona de vacaciones puede pagar!
Todos los Ciudadanos de Costa Rica o residente legal recibirán un descuento sobre el precio de admisión. También habrá una cantidad limitada de voluntarios que a cambio de un turno de trabajo tendrá que pagar sin cuota de admisión.

¿Qué puedo ganar?
Habrá premios en efectivo para los mejores equipos de rendimiento.

¿Cuando sera? ¿Cuanto durará?
Primavera 2018 y planeamos una semana.

Este sera un Amateur-Tournament por DOTA2 propositos.
