There's still a small chance that it'll pass as a seperate amendment but the fact that they wouldn't put it on the base gun bill along with universal background checks and trafficking regulation shows that there really isn't a whole lot of support from the dems for an assault weapons ban.

Feinstein has said she may look at tacking her assault weapons ban on as a rider to something else. We've won this time, but there's a lot of fighting still ahead. Don't stop contacting your reps just because you feel safe now. The war is never over.
