ABOUT Does This Game Use GenAI?

Tired of game developers not tagging generative AI use?

Did you realize the steam notification at the end of the page and now you're halfway through a game noticing a few too many fingers? Yeah that's what this group is for, so you don't spend your time or money on lazy developers. If you are for gen AI, then great play those games! We aren't here to debate on the ethics, just here for the information. Gen AI will also apply to any creative aspects (art, text, sounds, etc), not for traditional AI (enemy AI, pathing, etc.).
Please let me know if I make a mistake; I'm just one person :)

Steam only allows so much text for game reviews and I've had to condense much of my information found to fit the 200 character limit. I've been back and forth on whether I should make a blog so I can expand into the information for awhile. Well.

I think it's super important for devs and consumers to know exactly what information made my decision, the links, and my full thoughts as needed. Some of the games I have and will review, may not require a blog post, but I now can expand if I do need to.

I'll slowly go back through my past reviews to update and link to the posts I create, but with June NextFest happening (and Art Fight next month!), it's going to be a little bit.

I also have one more game pending in my curator page and I do have everyone's suggestions on my to do list, I promise I'm not ignoring anyone XD

Thanks so much for your support and the kind devs to send me games, this has already gotten a lot bigger than I imagined :O

Desktop Icons & Banners

Hey guys!

One of the things I noticed as I was mass downloading demos from Nexfest, that some of the desktop icons were made by generative AI. The games themselves didn't always appear to be using AI, but I wouldn't have known that without downloading those games.

Obviously, I will not be able to catch this feature, especially if the game costs money or without having to download every possible game. Furthermore, some games are using AI in their Steam Library announcements/banners. Again, as much as I wish I could, I can't follow and go through every game to check on this.

I appreciate it so much when people send in info like this, because I'm one person *cries*, so thanks so much! I would really (really, really) appreciate if I could get screenshots/proof of cases such as these. I want to make sure I'm not getting false information, as AI is scarily good nowadays and I don't want to wrongly accuse a dev of something that could impact them like this.

Feel free to send me info on PMs on Steam so I can save time from digging for the info, if you are so inclined :3

Since it hasn't been reviewed yet, https://store.steampowered.com/app/3219010/Fogpiercer/ does not use AI. From their discord, one of the devs said: "our game is GenAI-free and we intend to keep it that way" -- Raven

Hi! Just found this group! I also don't like AI slops, I just don't tolerate with them (excluding RTS map generation and enemy AIs, which were around since almost 80-90s, I don't think they fall under genAI category that imitates art), and leave a negative review when I'm aware of the use of AI.

So, I wanted to suggest for review 'Slayer Mage: My First RPG' game. They didn't use any AI, as you can see they used RM default assets for their first game. They only hired an artist for cover/capsule image. They also have DLC (Support Pack), where they included old sketches and other concept arts for the game.

No, it's not my game, I met the dev and her father at the local charity event (I still have a few DLC keys lying around if you want), and after that I became a friend with her father, and so I decided I'll support her with whatever I can (including writing this comment, so maybe her game gets more light and exposure).
