what's a server's designing ?

there are tons of cs servers, and all of them are similar. 90% are running de_dust2 everytime. fed up !!

in this group, we search persons who can give better ideas and new styles to make a server looking different.

we already made some themes like "Teletubbies VS Predator", "The Matrix server" and more.

and it's not an obligation to use the same strict ways, maybe two TVP servers can be different, just using the same theme with different mods and maps.

so, if you have a nice idea to enhance a classic server, we are here to listen to you, to help you, and why not, to play inside it with you !

°) what's a server designing ?
it's making it different than the commonplace servers, by adding selected models, maps, and plugins, (with its rules).

°) which rules ?
read our other Announcement.

°) what's a theme ?
it's a collection of several elements to make an harmony.

°) can I rename the models ?
no ! it will be a real mess, by having a lot of duplicate models. read the rules.
if someone gave you some zombie models, to be used as admin models, let their names as it is, don't rename it like "admin_GG.mdl", because I saw a model of "Kakashi" renamed as "KKK_X.mdl".
can someone explain me this stupidity !?!

°) can I put it in another folder ?
moving is tolerated, but not recommended.
some models should still in the same location, to be used in more than one server using similar themes.
weapons sound files can't be moved or renamed, otherwise they will not work.

°) can I add some other models, sounds, maps or plugins ?
not really, it depends on your theme, you must refer to your designer to not alter the theme with innapropriate files.
an example "the Matrix Server" is made only with Matrix maps, models and sounds, creating a certain harmony.
installing semiclip plugins and surf maps will convert it into a circus.

°) can I know some other designs ?
yes, see our other groups: Teletubbies VS predators, The Matrix Server, and more.

°) should I really follow this rules ?
it depends on your maturity and honesty :).

(**) firstly. what's designing rules ? (**)

this group is regrouping a lot of persons: scripters, mappers, model makers, and simple users.
everyone can have his own idea to make his server better than ever, but not every idea will be really productive.
so, I decided to make some rules for a good administration.

(**) you ask someone to remake your server (**)

yes, it's really a nice idea. explain what do you want exactly, and we try to see if it can be done or not.
don't insist on to leave some of your old configuration plugins or models if you are asking for a total remake.

(**) credits (**)

the user who helps you, must be an admin with good flags in your server, cause he really deserves it.
and he must have a certain notoriety, not because you are the owner then you can modify everything as you like, and to ban him when everything is done.
don't be ungrateful.

(**) never rename anything (**)

for example, I help you to make a "Matrix server", and give you some models and sounds to install it.
so, don't rename the models as you server's tag or community. "smith" must still "smith", and "neo" must still "neo".

doing such an immature behaviour will make a great mess, people will download the same models several times, and could not be able to know what's originally called.
leaving it as it is will be really helpful.

(**) never modify anything. (**)

only to use it in a local game as default models, you are not allowed to modify names and files location.
"if it's you who made or modified those model, then yes. you have the right to modify its names and location".

the owner made it to be in a specific folder, let it as it is. like this all the people using those models have it in the same place. especially if it's the same theme installed in different server.

(**) Banned concepts (**)

every server using slowhacking:
- modifying the player files, like the binds or the game menu.
- allowing cheaters to be popular.
- or anything else similar at this are not taken into consideration.

+ your server must advertise itself, not by using such immoral ways.
