This is the 1. Life Husars Regiment of Danzig-Langfuhr.

We are know as the Death's Head Cavalier for where we ride into battle, our enemy fear us more than death.

History

Totenkopf Husare (Deaths Head Hussars)

Because of the relentless bravery in battle the Regiment made a name for themselves that they do not give pardon to the enemy. This reputation was felt by the enemy during the following wars including the Coalition Wars. Because of this trait it was very popular with Friedrich the Great .

When Reorganization of the Prussian Military took place, the Regiment was given several honors including the "Leibhusaren" and "Garde" honors which is the title of Life Guard or Guard-Regiment. Because of Reorganization the escadron would now be known as the "Leibhusaren-Regiment". But the Korps was still intact.

In the following years the Regiment saw action in 1866 and notably in the Franco-Prussian war where it again displayed relentlessness which made it one of the most fearful regiments in its row of hussars and to the enemy. It was often displayed as a Storm going through the enemy which brought death and fear. In 1892 the Regiment officially got the Deaths Head Flags and symbols, although it was used a long time before that. The regiment was kept in service until WW1 broke out. It was dissolved in 1919 due to the drastic change in warfare.*
