Happy Dragon Quest Day and a Merry 40th Anniversary!

The 10-minute long main event revealed that Dragon Quest XII restarted development with a new team some time ago. The darker tone that was first announced got scrapped for a more light hearted one. But it sounds like it'll be a while longer before we're able to play it. Among the reveal trailer, they showed some of the heroes, a new logo and a new subtitle: Beyond Dreams.

Dragon Quest XI S Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and the next campaign for Dragon Quest X got announced in the Japan-exclusive live stream.

Dragon Quest Day is finally here and we've got a commemorative message from Dragon Quest creator Yuji Horii, which he posted on the 40th Anniversary Website [www.dragonquest.jp]

What started as the simple joy of being able to play an RPG on a living room TV has now grown into a grand story enjoyed by three generations of families.

No matter how the hardware changes, no matter how the times change, what I've always cherished is the "excitement of being the protagonist of your own story." Life is truly a "role-playing game." Sometimes you'll hit a wall, and sometimes you'll step into a toxic swamp. But if you accumulate experience step by step and never give up, I'm sure a path will open up for you.

Even after 40 years, my adventurous spirit is far from over. I want to continue delivering new stories that can accompany you on your own life's adventure.
