A community called Gamer's Republic came with an offer to host the gamemode so now it's back!

there's an assassination sub-forum under the Garry's Mod one.

The gamemode is back in development and some changes were already made, more stuff will be added as it go

Havent heard anything from this group and havent been able to find the server or gamemode for nearly 3 months

Ehh Saturday...Welp, it's a new gamemode. I guess you need some time to make changes according to our experience of the beta. Was fun though :3
