The animal walking towards you is actually a Pallas Cat. With about 9,000 hairs per square centimeter, so they're not afraid of the cold winter at all. Their pawpads don't have fur, so they use their tails as footwarmers, kinda like how we shove our hands in our pockets when it's freezing. With short legs, and a flat body, they look like a fuzzy pancake glued to the ground, but that squat shape is actually genius! It keeps them camouflaged, and makes hunting way easier. They're one of the oldest cats on this planet, hanging around for more than 15 million years. They've always been loaners, and they're one of the few cats humans have never managed to tame. And the reason? Their temper is off the charts! Back in the 60s, Soviet scientists even thought about sending one into spice, but it was so aggressive they ditched the idea, and went with dogs instead. They don't live long, around 10 years, but that's not really why they're endangered. The real problem is their cubs.
