A not small justification for delidding my cpu was "I bought a fan cable splitter a few weeks ago and still haven't installed it." The improved temps helped too though. We'll see how it goes.

It would be my luck that AMD becomes competitive a month after I upgrade. I do have some AMD stock options though. Can't really complain there.

Almost preordered an R7 1700X, but then I slapped myself. Saving money is nice. However, my i5-2500K is started to show its age for sure.

As an added bonus I'm now using my SATA 3.0 SSD's to their full potential. Right as NVMe SSD's start getting affordable....
