Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced is a return to the golden era of the franchise. The main story has held up very well, and Edward is just as enjoyable to follow as he was over a decade ago.

That said, I don't think all of the new or reworked side/story content fits as naturally as the original game. Some of it feels a little out of place alongside the main story. There is one side quest, though, that really stood out to me. It adds a lot to Edward's character and honestly feels like it could have been in the original release.

My biggest issue with the remake is the replacement of the modern-day story with the new "Rifts." I was never a huge fan of the original modern-day sections in the OG, but they at least had an interesting story to tell. The Rifts, on the other hand, just didn't do anything for me. They feel disconnected from the rest of the game and are a noticeable step down in terms of writing.

The combat is easily one of the biggest improvements. It takes the foundation of the original and mixes it with ideas from the newer games, creating a system that feels both familiar and fresh. I'd honestly love to see Ubisoft build on this style of combat in future Assassin's Creed games. For me, it's better than the original in almost every way. My only real complaints are the removal of unarmed combat and the ability to fight with the hidden blade, both of which I really missed.

The naval combat is just as great as the OG if not abit smoother, If you loved it in the original, you'll have just as much fun here. If you never enjoyed that part of Black Flag, though, I don't think Resynced does enough to change your mind.

Overall, Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced feels like the definitive way to experience Black Flag. It isn't perfect, and there are a few changes that doesn't quite land for me, but the improvements to the core gameplay make it an easy recommendation for those, like me who hasn't liked where the franchise has headed in the last decade to re-experience the last peak title before the fall and feels modern enough for the newcomers to the franchise.

I've played this game from the day the beta came out in 2013 and have played this game for about 7 years and always comeback, not as much as I use to but since the game is being updated once more I highly highly recommend this game for both solo and group play. Both silly and serious game play.
