The story is unfunny, lame, nonsensical, full of loopholes, awfully paced, badly written and least but not less important, similarly written to homestuck (one of the worst stories ever written and its fandom is half pedophile [BA] half defeated losers). There are multiple moments where the protagonist (a person that should be tortured to death for being utterly dislikable and disastrously developed) just decides to act like a schizo, namely when she decided to shoot a cop that was trying to arrest her for drunk driving. The game REALLY wants to depict Z as a good human being for fighting against “american imperialism”, all because she got canceled on instagram and then decided to share her communist manifesto but Le EpIc KlOwNs. Also the whole clown schtick is ass and adds nothing to the story, only added because Andrew Hussie decided to become a clown himself (although he isn't funny like a real clown so I’m not sure that would be the correct denomination for him). The entire plot of the game ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks and irredeemable, liking this is akin to liking sonichu, since both were written in a similar style.

Storytelling that does not spark interest in the player because its premise is both uninteresting and shallow. All attempts at jokes fail miserably because they are all unfunny. Just like homestuck, the dialogue is too long and pointless, neither builds character, progresses the story or creates relationships between characters. If you haven’t realized yet, a visual novel with bad writing is akin to a 3d platformer with bad controls. In a way psycholonials is the Bubsy 3D of visual novels, except Bubsy 3D has many other good components and also features a ton of reasons as to why it is as bad as it is. This disgrace cannot be excused like the aforementioned.

I know a game like this doesn't really have any “mechanics” per se, but it lacks autosave and a way to fast forward through pages, so you better not forget to save the game, otherwise you not only have to manually go through each page again AND some pages have a fading transition that cannot be skipped, making thai process even longer. Pesterquest, for all wrongs that worthless title committed, still detected which pages you already read and had a fast forward button that took you to the last page read because it had an autosave mechanic.

To like this you must be either a masochist or a huge fan of awful degenerate writing made by someone with the mentality of a 3 year old and cannot for the life of him make a single character interesting in any conceivably possible way. All my thoughts and prayers are directed at his demise and the loss of every material possession he has.

The soundtrack is ok’ish, not much to complain about. The “art” is just a bunch of pngs with instagram filters with his ♥♥♥♥♥♥ ms paint drawings on top and NO, it is NOT an authentic artstyle. He also makes sure to compress and downgrade the images themselves to purposefully make things as unsightly as possible. For a game about colorful clowns, it sure feels like it uses red and pink way too much for an attempt at visual engagement with the scenes (that isn't present because it's just a bunch of stock images drawn on top of). The cutscenes are also ♥♥♥♥ but I don't really need to explain that when all of the other art is awful.

The only realistic way to enjoy this slugfest is by having friends help you make the voices, because otherwise I wouldn't have had the energy to end this miserable experience.
